Cornerstone laid 3 October 1937 1. The parish's first church was dedicated in 1942, was originally church of St. Francis de Sales. Fr. Fusco bought the church, had it transported and had it put on a concrete foundation.
Catholic services were first held in Southold in 1863. Prior to that, the nearest Catholic parish was St. Andrew's in Sag Harbor. The first church was a converted school on what is now Route 25. Originally there was to be a school on the property as well. The cornerstone of the present St. Patrick’s Church was laid on Columbus Day in 1926 and the first mass celebrated on July 1, 1927.
Partnership of Patrick C. Keely and his son-in-law, Thomas Houghton. Active as a firm in the 1890s through Keely's death in August, 1896.
Parish established on August 25, 1964 to serve new Lefrak City development. The current church structure replaced a "temporary" Quonset-hut-type structure, completed in 1965. The new church was dedicated on November 4, 2001.1.
St. Camillus parish was established as a mission in 1909; parishioners attended St. Rose of Lima until 1912. Existing building may be an alteration to an earlier structure. 1 Now part of St. Camillus-St. Virgilus Parish.
St. Virgilius parish was founded in 1922. Now merged with St. Camilius parish in Rockaway.
