Frank Holmberg (September, 18501 - December, 1902 2) was born in Germany and immigrated to the United States in 18753. He was an active member of Brooklyn's German community, and a member of organizations such as the Brooklyn Scheutzen Corps 4. He was a founding member and second vice-president of the Bavarian Volkfest Verein 5.
The earliest reference to Holmberg in the Real Estate Record is an 1882 listing for an alteration to 37 Grand Street. 6
Lain's 1897 directory lists Holmberg's office at 911 Broadway, Brooklyn and his home at 856 Greene Avenue. 7 The 1900 U.S. Census records Holmberg living at 250 Palmetto Street with his first son, Francis, Jr., born in 1878 (and Francis' wife Katherine) and second son Charles, born in 1880 (a draughtsman).
