Henry V. Murphy

Henry V. Murphy (ca. 1888 - 17 May 1960) was a graduate of the Pratt Institute. He was most active as an architect for the Diocese of Brooklyn, for which he designed over 50 buildings. Murphy designed other institutional and public works, including schools, public housing and public health facilities.

St. Cecilia R. C. Church

Cornerstone laid by Bishop Loughlin on 27 September 1891; the church was dedicated 26 November 1893. Rev. E. J. McGolrick was the priest in charge of construction of the church. The rectory and a separate chapel were constructed at the same time, with both also designed by Poole.
