Partnership of Gustave Steinback and Robert J. Reiley. Active 1904 to 1913.
Built for Catherine Lipsius, widow of Claus Lipsius ([ibib]856[/ibib] page#). The Claus-Lipsius Brewery, also designed by Engelhardt, was located at Forrest Street and Bushwick Avenue, with bottling facilities at Garden Street adn Bushwick Avenue. The Lipsius house is often (and incorrectly) described as the William Ulmer residence - Ulmer's residence (now demolished) was across the street at 680 Bushwick Avenue.

1491 - Garden st, Nos. 58-66, s s, 14.6 w Bushwick av, one five-story brick ale brewery, 36x60, gravel roof, brick and stone cornice; cost, $15,000; Cluas Lipsius, Bushwick av, cor Forrest st; ar't, Th Engelhardt; b'rs, J. Rauth and J. Rueger. 1
