Building
Building constructed in 1860 as the Lee Avenue Reformed Dutch Church on land donated by heirs of General Jeremiah Johnson. First organized in 1852 and formally established in 1854, the Reformed Dutch congregation did not pan out and by 1871 the church was taken over by Congregationalists and renamed the Lee Avenue Congregational Church.

Church was dedicated by Bishop Molloy on July 4, 1932. Church was a mission of Sacred Heart parish, Cutchogue.

This is the original church of Sts. Peter & Paul, Wythe Avenue between South Second and South Third Streets. Sts. Peter & Paul was the first Catholic parish in Williamsburg, and the third Catholic parish in Kings County. Constructed in 1847, this church was the first church designed by Patrick Charles Keely, who went on to design hundreds of other Catholic churches throughout New York and the Northeast (by some accounts, Keely designed over 700 churches).
