"Saul Richman, Superintendant, Laurel Hill, L.I., is drawing plans for building to be erected at Nos. 109-111 North 3d st, for the National Stamping Co., Nos. 78-80 Beekman st, N.Y.
Cornerstone laid by Bishop Loughlin on 27 September 1891; the church was dedicated 26 November 1893. Rev. E. J. McGolrick was the priest in charge of construction of the church. The rectory and a separate chapel were constructed at the same time, with both also designed by Poole.
"The Gayety was owned and operated by Hyde & Behman, a Brooklyn based theater management company that grew to operate theaters in Brooklyn, Manhattan, Newark, Pittsburgh and Chicago. Richard Hyde and Louis Behman started their company in Brooklyn in 1877, with their first theater on Adams Street, in Downtown Brooklyn.
